BILL NUMBER: S1714REVISED 1/20/23 SPONSOR: MARTINEZ TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 397 of the laws of 1996, relating to authorizing the town of Islip to lease certain lands to a business corporation, in relation to the lease term PURPOSE: The purpose of this legislation is to grant authority to the Town of Islip to extend an existing lease for The Rinx in Hauppauge. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1. Amends section 1 of chapter 397 of the laws of 1996 by adding a subdivision that authorizes the Town of Islip in the county of Suffolk to extend the terms of a lease described in this act for up to ten years in addition to the ten-year extension authorized in subdivision (a). Section 2. Is the enacting clause.

MARTINEZ -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government AN ACT to amend chapter 397 of the laws of 1996, relating to authorizing the town of Islip to lease certain lands to a business corporation, in relation to the lease term THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 1 of chapter 397 of the laws of 1996, relating to authorizing the town of Islip to lease certain lands to a business corporation, is amended by adding a new subdivision (a-1) to read as follows: (A-1) THE TOWN OF ISLIP, IN THE COUNTY OF SUFFOLK, IS HEREBY AUTHOR- IZED AND EMPOWERED TO EXTEND THE TERMS OF A LEASE BETWEEN THE TOWN AND A BUSINESS CORPORATION DATED JULY 30, 1996 THAT WAS AUTHORIZED BY THIS ACT ON THE LANDS DESCRIBED IN THIS ACT FOR UP TO TEN YEARS IN ADDITION TO THE TEN-YEAR EXTENSION AUTHORIZED UNDER SUBDIVISION (A) OF THIS SECTION. § 2.
