 Introduced  by  Sen. MANNION -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Disabilities
 
 AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to the term limit of
   members of the autism spectrum disorders advisory board
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subdivision (b) of section 13.42 of the mental hygiene law,
 as  added  by  chapter  469  of  the laws of 2016, is amended to read as
 follows:
   (b) Members of the board shall serve [at the pleasure of the  appoint-
 ing authority] FOR A TERM OF THREE YEARS, AT WHICH POINT SUCH MEMBERSHIP
 POSITION  SHALL  BE  SUBJECT  TO REAPPOINTMENT.   Vacancies on the board
 shall be filled in the same manner as the original  appointment  ONCE  A
 MEMBER'S TERM HAS EXPIRED, OR IF A MEMBER RESIGNS BEFORE HIS OR HER TERM
 HAS  EXPIRED.    Members of the board shall receive no compensation, but
 may be reimbursed for actual and  necessary  expenses  incurred  in  the
 performance  of their duties within amounts appropriated therefor. AS OF
 THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE CHAPTER OF THE LAWS OF  TWO  THOUSAND  TWENTY-
 THREE  WHICH  AMENDED THIS SUBDIVISION, ALL APPOINTEES WHO ARE CURRENTLY
 SERVING ON THE BOARD SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE TERM LIMIT SET FORTH PURSU-
 ANT TO THIS SECTION.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
 have become a law.
