 Introduced  by  Sen. MATTERA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Health
 
 AN ACT to amend the public health law, the education law and the  execu-
   tive law, in relation to enacting Paige's law
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Short title. This act shall be known and may  be  cited  as
 "Paige's law".
   §  2.  Subdivision  1  of  section  2500-a of the public health law is
 amended by adding a new paragraph (k) to read as follows:
   (K) HEREDITARY HEMORRHAGIC TELANGIECTASIA AND  THORACIC  AORTIC  ANEU-
 RYSMS  AND  DISSECTIONS  THROUGH  GENE  SEQUENCING,  MARFAN SYNDROME AND
 RELATED DISORDERS.
   § 3. The public health law is amended by adding a new  section  2500-l
 to read as follows:
   § 2500-L. HEREDITARY HEMORRHAGIC TELANGIECTASIA, THORACIC AORTIC ANEU-
 RYSMS,  MARFAN  SYNDROME AND RELATED DISORDERS PRENATAL SCREENING AWARE-
 NESS. 1. AS USED IN THIS SECTION, "HEALTH  CARE  PRACTITIONER"  MEANS  A
 MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL THAT PROVIDES PRENATAL CARE.
   2.  A  HEALTH  CARE  PRACTITIONER  CARING  FOR  A PREGNANT WOMAN SHALL
 PROVIDE TO SUCH WOMAN MATERIALS PROMULGATED BY  THE  COMMISSIONER  WHICH
 INCLUDE  INFORMATION  ON  BEING A POTENTIAL CARRIER OF HEREDITARY HEMOR-
 RHAGIC TELANGIECTASIA, THORACIC AORTIC ANEURYSMS,  MARFAN  SYNDROME  AND
 RELATED  DISORDERS AND THE AVAILABILITY AND OPTIONS FOR PRENATAL SCREEN-
 ING FOR SUCH CONDITIONS AND DISORDERS.
   § 4. The education law is amended by adding a new  section  3001-e  to
 read as follows:
   §  3001-E. BRAIN ARTERIOVENOUS MALFORMATION, BRAIN ANEURYSM AND STROKE
 AWARENESS AND RESPONSE TRAINING. 1. (A) TEACHERS SHALL ANNUALLY COMPLETE
 A COURSE OR TRAINING IN THE IDENTIFICATION OF AND RESPONSE  TO  A  PUPIL
