BILL NUMBER: S8014 SPONSOR: MAY TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the real property actions and proceedings law, in relation to making a technical change to a provision requiring a peti- tion in a summary proceeding to recover possession of real property in the city of Syracuse to allege proof of compliance with local laws PURPOSE: This is a chapter amendment that makes a technical change to the provisions of L.2023 c.544, to make a change with the numbering of subdivisions. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This legislation amends the underlying chapter by changing the numbering from subdivision 7 to subdivision 8 of the Real Property Actions and Proceedings law to accommodate another piece of legislation that also created a subdivision with the same numbering.

MAY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend the real property actions and proceedings law, in relation to making a technical change to a provision requiring a peti- tion in a summary proceeding to recover possession of real property in the city of Syracuse to allege proof of compliance with local laws THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 7 of section 741 of the real property actions and proceedings law, as added by a chapter of the laws of 2023 amending the real property actions and proceedings law relating to requiring a petition in a summary proceeding to recover possession of real property in the city of Syracuse to allege proof of compliance with local laws requiring rental residential property registration and licensure, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 3497 and A. 3110, is amended to read as follows: [7.] 8. In the city of Syracuse, where the premises from which removal is sought is subject to a local law requiring the registration of said premises as a condition of legal rental, allege proof of compliance with such local law. § 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same manner as a chapter of the laws of 2023 amending the real property actions and proceedings law relating to requiring a petition in a summa- ry proceeding to recover possession of real property in the city of Syracuse to allege proof of compliance with local laws requiring rental residential property registration and licensure, as proposed in legisla- tive bills numbers S. 3497 and A. 3110, takes effect.
