BILL NUMBER: S8630 SPONSOR: STEWART-COUSINS TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 334 of the laws of 2012 relating to authorizing the town of Greenburgh, county of Westchester to lease certain park lands for tennis uses, in relation to the definition of tennis facili- ties PURPOSE: The purpose of this bill is to expand the definition of "tennis facili- ties" in relation to its use in the existing law. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 of the bill amends section 1 of chapter 334 of the laws of 2012, which permits the Town of Greenburgh to lease the area around its tennis courts at Anthony F. Veteran Park to construct a removable tennis bubble over the tennis courts so the facilities can operate year round. This bill defines the use of "tennis facilities" in the existing law as

STEWART-COUSINS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government AN ACT to amend chapter 334 of the laws of 2012 relating to authorizing the town of Greenburgh, county of Westchester to lease certain park lands for tennis uses, in relation to the definition of tennis facili- ties THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 1 of chapter 334 of the laws of 2012 relating to authorizing the town of Greenburgh, county of Westchester to lease certain park lands for tennis uses, is amended to read as follows: Section 1. The town of Greenburgh acting by and through its town board is hereby authorized and empowered to lease at fair market value and upon such other terms and conditions as determined by such board consistent with sections four and five of this act the lands and improvements described in section three of this act for up to 30 years for the operation of seasonal tennis facilities. FOR PURPOSES OF THIS ACT, "TENNIS FACILITIES" SHALL MEAN PLACES THAT PROVIDE PROGRAMMING AND SERVICES RELATED TO TENNIS AND OTHER SPORTS WHICH REQUIRE THE USE OF RACQUETS OR PADDLES TO STRIKE BALLS OR OBJECTS. § 2.
