 Introduced  by  Sen.  RAMOS  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Labor
 
 AN ACT to amend the workers' compensation law, in relation to payment of
   certain awards for disability
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. The opening paragraph of subdivision 4 of section 15 of the
 workers'  compensation  law,  as  amended  by chapter 168 of the laws of
 1979, is amended to read as follows:
   An award made to a claimant under subdivision three OF  THIS  SECTION,
 INCLUDING,  BUT  NOT LIMITED TO, THE UNACCRUED PORTION OF A NON-SCHEDULE
 AWARD, PROVIDED THAT THE CLAIMANT WAS ENTITLED TO BENEFITS AT  THE  TIME
 OF  DEATH,  shall,  in  case of death arising from causes other than the
 injury, be payable to and for the benefit of the persons following:
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
