BILL NUMBER: S8378 SPONSOR: PALUMBO TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 495 of the laws of 2011 relating to the convey- ance of land formerly used as an armory to the town of Riverhead, county of Suffolk, in relation to the use of such property PURPOSE: To amend the town to allow the town of Riverhead to develop a YMCA recreational facility. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1. Section 4 of chapter 495 of the laws of 2011 is amended to allow for the selling of land to the YMCA of Long Island. Section 2. Sets forth the effective date.

PALUMBO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend chapter 495 of the laws of 2011 relating to the convey- ance of land formerly used as an armory to the town of Riverhead, county of Suffolk, in relation to the use of such property THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 4 of chapter 495 of the laws of 2011 relating to the conveyance of land formerly used as an armory to the town of River- head, county of Suffolk, is amended to read as follows: § 4. Any lands transferred pursuant to this act shall be ENTERED INTO LEASES OR OTHER AGREEMENTS WITH THE YMCA OF LONG ISLAND UPON TERMS AGREED UPON BY THE TOWN OF RIVERHEAD AND THE YMCA OF LONG ISLAND AND SHALL BE used for the purposes of the [town of Riverhead] YMCA OF LONG ISLAND to utilize the subject property [and improve the structures for use by the police department, justice court, public safety and recre- ational programs developed and operated by the town of Riverhead police department and upon termination of such use title to the lands so trans- ferred shall revert to the state of New York] FOR THE PROVISION OF RECREATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS; PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT IF SUCH LANDS CEASE TO BE USED FOR SUCH PURPOSES, THEN SUCH LANDS SHALL REVERT TO THE STATE OF NEW YORK. § 2.
