   when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
 
 AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to dedicating a portion  of
   the state highway system to Sgt Henry Johnson
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 345-d to
 read as follows:
   § 345-D. PORTION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM TO BE  DEDICATED  TO  SGT
 HENRY JOHNSON. THE BRIDGE LOCATED ON INTERSTATE 90, DESIGNATED AS BRIDGE
 NUMBER  1092839,  WHICH  CROSSES  OVER THE HUDSON RIVER IN THE CITIES OF
 ALBANY AND RENSSELAER, COUNTIES OF ALBANY AND RENSSELAER, SHALL BE DEDI-
 CATED TO SGT HENRY JOHNSON.
   § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the  instal-
 lation  and  maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system
 as dedicated pursuant to section one of this  act,  provided  that  such
 signing  shall  state "Bridge Dedicated to Sgt Henry Johnson".  However,
 to avoid confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the
 dedication called for pursuant to section one of this act shall  be  one
 of  ceremonial  nature and the official name of such bridge shall not be
 changed as a result of this act.
   § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
