   printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government
 
 AN ACT authorizing the commissioner of transportation to extend a  lease
   of  certain  state lands located in the hamlet of Farmingdale, town of
   Babylon, county of Suffolk, state of New York
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of section 3 of the public
 lands law or any other law to the contrary, the commissioner  of  trans-
 portation  is  hereby  authorized  to  enter into and execute a one-time
 extension of an existing lease of state-owned lands located at 1  and  2
 Marriott Plaza, in the hamlet of Farmingdale, town of Babylon, county of
 Suffolk,  state  of New York, which lands are under the jurisdiction and
 control of the department of transportation.
   Such lease extension shall:
   (a) Be limited to a single extension of the current lease and existing
 lease options;
   (b) Be for a term not to exceed twenty years;
   (c) Be upon such terms and conditions as the commissioner of transpor-
 tation shall deem appropriate and in the best interests  of  the  state;
 and
   (d)  Be  subject to the approval of the director of the budget and the
 office of the attorney general as to form and manner of execution.
   § 2. The lands authorized to be subject to such  lease  extension  are
 state-owned  lands  known  as  1  and 2 Marriott Plaza, Farmingdale, New
 York, being lands under the jurisdiction of the department of  transpor-
 tation,  and more particularly described in the existing lease agreement
 on file with such department.
   § 3. The authority granted by this act shall apply solely to the lease
 extension described herein and shall not  be  deemed  to  authorize  the
 sale,  transfer, or any additional lease or extension of any other state
 lands without further express authorization of the legislature  pursuant
 to section 3 of the public lands law.
   § 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
