Senator John A. DeFrancisco congratulates Andrew Bowman, who received the New York State Assembly’s Excelsior Award for Excellence. Andrew is very active in the community and with Special Olympics. Last year, he went to the Special Olympic competition in Binghamton, New York, where he won a gold medal in the free-style swimming event. In addition, his basketball team took home a silver medal. Andrew also participates annually in the Buddy Walk – a two mile walk to promote Down Syndrome Awareness. Andrew is currently an 8th grader in the West Genesee School District.
