Senator Stewart-Cousins had the pleasure to kick-off the North Yonkers Boys and Girls Club football and cheering season on Sunday, September 22nd. The North Yonkers Boys and Girls Club is a volunteer organization and works for the prevention of delinquency and youth crime and the advancement of the morale., physical, mental, and social well being of the youth of the City of Yonkers. The club offers basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, Pop Warner football, and cheerleading, for 1,200 youth annually. Sports are offered to children ages 5 through 17. The club also has a teen club for the teens 13 through 19 living in northwest Yonkers. The program offers an alternative to ‘hanging out in the streets’ and serves 100 youth annually.
