(White Plains - October 8th) The Heart Gallery opened in White Plains at the public library to promote foster care opportunities in Westchester County. Senator Stewart-Cousins and Assembly Member David Buchwald joined Westchester County Social Services Commissioner Kevin McGuire and Braveheart members including Darryl McDaniels of the rap group Run DMC, who was adopted.
The Bravehearts were all in the Foster Care system and now work with Family Ties helping other foster kids who age out the system and are in need of direction. McDaniels found out when he was 35 years old that he also had been a foster child and then adopted by his foster parents. Here's a link to learn more.
