(White Plains - September 21st) Senator Stewart-Cousins celebrating the Hispanic Heritage Month at the White Plains Hispanic Day Festival. Hispanic Heritage Month began on September 15th, a time to recognize and celebrate the cultures and contributions that descendants from Mexico, Spano, the Caribbean, Central and South America have made to our country.The month-long celebration includes the Independence Days for countries including Mexico, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Columbus Day or Dia De La Raza, falls on October 12th.
