March 2nd Community Update from Senator Shelley Mayer

march 2nd

Dear Friend:

The beginning of  the 2019 Legislative Session has been one of the most productive in the 242-year history of the State Legislature. We have passed voting rights reforms, protected reproductive health rights, and delivered on common sense gun violence prevention measures.

This past week, I was glad to vote in favor of advancing a package of bills to improve election law in New York State. Together, the bills enhance good government safeguards, make it easier for those who are interested to pursue public office, and enact the Voter Friendly Ballot Act. Read more about each of these bills in the section below.

On Thursday, February 28th, I was proud to support S.1719-C. The bill addresses the serious problem of revenge porn and gives victims redress  against the offender. Read more about S.1719-C in the section below.

On Saturday, March 23rd, I am pleased to host my 3rd Annual Women's History Month Celebration at The Rye Arts Center. The event will recognize women from the 37th Senate District who have made substantial contributions to the community. RSVP is required as seating is limited. Click here to RSVP.

As always, if we can help you with an issue, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office at 914-934-5250 or smayer@nysenate.gov.

Warm regards,

Shelley B. Mayer
