New York State Senator Brian Kavanagh released the following statement in response to last night’s anti-Semitic attack in Williamsburg, Brooklyn:
“The recent attack on two members of the Jewish community in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is reprehensible and serves as a stark reminder that we must all take actions that appeal to our most noble instincts rather than our most base ones.
Our mantra throughout this crisis is that we are stronger together. The only way we will get through this crisis is if we remain unified and respect each other’s rights.
I applaud the NYPD for their quick response in making arrests in this case and I look forward to continuing to work with our Jewish community, and all communities who are targeted with this kind of behavior, to keep New Yorkers safe.
