Senator Helming visited the Lansing Fire Department during its recent recruitment open house.

Senator Helming sponsors a bill (S.2596) to help recruit more volunteer firefighters by allowing youth programs to safely observe an active emergency under the regulation of the fire chief.

“Thank you Chief George, former Chief Purcell, and all of the firefighters of the Lansing Fire Department for your selfless and dedicated service to the community. I am proud to support your efforts to recruit more volunteers to the fire service,” said Senator Helming.
