Back-to-School Giveaways

As the school year draws near, Senator Serrano is excited to announce his collaboration with Assembly Member Emérita Torres and City Council Member Amanda Farías to organize two joyful backpack giveaways in the vibrant Bronx community. On August 14th and August 19th, families gathered at Harding Park and Lafayette Estates, where the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as students were welcomed to collect free backpacks filled with essential school supplies, all aimed at kickstarting a successful academic year.

In an effort to further support local students, Senator Serrano also participated in a heartfelt backpack and school supply giveaway on Saturday, August 23rd, at both the Home Depot Children’s Garden and Los Amigos Community Garden. These events showcased the spirit of community and collaboration, and a special thanks goes out to the New York Restoration Project, dedicated volunteers, and all who contributed their time and efforts to make these events a resounding success!
