State Senator Samra Brouk's statement on the Ratepayer Protection Package

Senator Samra G. Brouk (SD-55): “For my constituents, utility rate hikes became a heavy burden that affected their everyday lives. In response, I led efforts to protect our residents from skyrocketing utility costs. I support the new Ratepayer package because it offers protections for customers affected by utility companies overcharging for services; re-enrolls households eligible for heating assistance, and reinforces reasonable standards of payment for low-income residents. At a time when affordability affects so many families in my city and state, I remain committed to advocating for the financial stability of all New Yorkers.”
