Last week, after a very long process, we passed our enacted state budget for 2026-27. This budget contains funding and priorities that are critically important for the 29th Senate District and for communities across New York State, including:

• Increases funding for local schools
• Expands SCIE and DRIE programs
• Expands Universal Pre-K
• Provides critical funding for arts and cultures locally and statewide
• Secures funding for investments in environmental conservation and protection initiatives
• Provides parks funding to increase access to green spaces
• Bans agreements between ICE and local law enforcement
• Provides funding for the East River Esplanade
• Increases funding for CUNY and SUNY schools
• Continues funding for NYCHA, public housing and other housing assistance programs
• Increases funding for public protection efforts
