Concert benefits music program for refugee children

The Cathedral Academy at Pompei (CAP) Symphonic Music Program will hold a benefit concert on Friday, March 28 at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral. Elinor Frey, who released her most recent CD "La voce del violoncello" in 2013, will perform at the event.
CAP's music program has given refugee children in Syracuse the chance to work with music professionals. Children choose from strings, brass, woodwinds or drumming, learning to compose and ultimately perform their piece at a concert.
"The Cathedral Academy at Pompei Symphonic Music Program provides pathways for children to explore the world of music and the myriad ways it can enhance their life," State Senator Dave Valesky wrote to CAP.
Where: St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral at 220 E. Fayette St.
When: Friday, March 28 at 7 p.m.
How much: $25 in advance and $30 at the door for general public; $15 in advance and $20 at the door for students and seniors; $50 in advance and $60 at the door for families. Order tickets here or call (315)299-5598.
