As we remember those we lost on that fateful day, we must also take pride in our heroic first responders who bravely rushed into harm’s way to help their fellow New Yorkers. Their courage, dedication and selflessness should serve as an inspiration and example to us all. We grieve today, and all days, for those we lost, but we should also redouble our efforts to unite as a nation, heal our divisions and serve our fellow citizens.”
