July 28, 2013
(Bronx, NY) - Senator José M. Serrano joined striking fast food workers and community members standing in solidarity to demand that fast food corporations pay their employees better wages. Highlighting the importance of workers being treated equitably and fairly, Serrano stood firm in calling for fast food employers to provide employees with a change in the workplace that they deserve.
"Far too often workers in our community are exploited or treated unfairly in the workplace," said Senator Serrano. "Many of these hard working people simply seek to achieve the American Dream. Fast food restaurants should be paying their employees more for the services that they provide and should always respect a worker's right to organize," concluded Serrano.
