State Senator Patty Ritchie met recently with Department of Agriculture and Markets Acting Commissioner James Bays in Albany to discuss supporting New York’s hardworking farmers and expanding opportunities for those in the industry.
As chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee, Senator Ritchie has been committed to making agriculture a top priority.
Most recently, her bill to help provide New York State Farmers with relief from rising property taxes was signed into law by Governor Andrew Cuomo. In addition, Senator Ritchie has also been working diligently in the past several years to increase funding for agriculture programs and cut taxes and red tape to encourage growth in the industry.
