Senator Jack M. Martins (R-Mineola) recently partnered with the New York Cosmos to sponsor a free children’s soccer camp in Floral Park. Senator Martins sponsored the event along with Senator Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre), County Executive Ed Mangano, Legislator Vincent Muscarella, and Councilman Ed Ambrosino. 

     Over 300 local children from Floral Park, South Floral Park, Bellerose Village, Stewart Manor, Elmont, and Franklin Square took part in the camp. Children learned dribbling, passing, ball mastery skills, and fitness tips from Cosmos players, coaches, and trainers, as well as local college soccer stars. Carlos Mendes, the Cosmos’ Captain who is originally from Mineola, also came to the camp to teach and spend time with the kids.
