(East Harlem, NY)- Senator Jose M. Serrano co-sponsored New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito's 8th Annual "Step Up, Speak Out, Take Action" East Harlem Youth Fair. The youth fair was attended by hundreds of young adults who enjoyed musical performances, games, as well as food and beverages, all while raising awareness about gun violence and empowering the local youth with available services in the community.    

"This youth fair has shown to be a tremendous way of building and nurturing the bonds within our community," said Senator Serrano. "Young adults and adults alike from the neighborhood benefit greatly by coming together to educate the youth on ways to become empowered and involved in our communities. I would like to thank New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito for putting this important affair together," said Senator Serrano.
