“Following yesterday’s elections, I would like to welcome newly elected Senator Roxanne Persaud to the Senate Democrats and Senator Fred Akshar to the State Senate. There are many issues that the residents of New York want their State Legislature to address in the months ahead and I look forward to working with all Senators, regardless of party affiliation, to achieve the results New Yorkers demand and deserve. Election Day should serve as a reminder to all public servants of the enormous trust New Yorkers have put in us and all of us in elected office have a responsibility to earn that trust and restore the public’s confidence in our state government.”
