"It is deeply disappointing, but not unexpected, that the Republicans have lined up behind Donald Trump's highly partisan and anti-progressive Supreme Court nominee. Brett Kavanaugh showed America that he lacks judicial temperament and is prone to wild conspiracy theories. These traits should have precluded him from serving on the nation's highest court. We cannot rely on the Supreme Court to stand up for New Yorkers' rights, and that is why we need a strong, functional Senate Democratic Majority to finally pass progressive reforms and protections."
