“The Supreme Court decision in the Janus case is made with the intent to weaken public unions and is an assault on the organized labor movement as a whole. If there is one lesson we must learn from this decision, and the recent actions of the U.S. Supreme Court, it is that New York must step up and take action because our values and rights are under attack in Washington. New York is the birthplace of the organized labor movement, and we understand that unions were the foundation of the Middle Class. We will continue to stand with our brothers and sisters in labor, and we will not allow the Trump and conservative agenda to destroy them, our Middle Class, or our way of life.”
