He will be the first African American to serve in this position. He has a distinguished career of serving New York students and ensuring that our most vulnerable children have access to essential education services. Dr. Young helped shape the policies that affect New York's schoolchildren and it was his leadership that helped implement the ‘My Brother's Keeper’ initiative.
