Senator Helming Statement on State Mask Guidance for Schools
June 7, 2021
Senator Pam Helming has issued the following statement in response to the June 4 letter from State Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker to the CDC, and subsequent communication issued by the state Sunday afternoon:
“The adults in the room need to get their act together. Instead of creating chaos and confusion, the state needs to provide clarity. Or better yet, simply get out of the way and let our local school districts work with their local health departments to make these decisions. This pattern of issuing breaking news on Friday afternoons helps no one, and with less than three weeks left in the school year besides. Final report cards will be issued soon. When it comes to its handling of school guidance, the state gets an F.”
