Kathy Hochul has proposed a property tax exemption for homeowners with additional dwelling units. This proposal follows her previously shelved legislation to do away with local zoning control.

This radical proposal is putting the cart before the horse. The people of New York have already rejected the original one-size-fits-all approach dictated by Albany.

New York is a home-rule state, allowing local governments to control their zoning. Let's keep it that way!
