State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. commended the bravery and courage of the men and women of the NYC Police Department at the 106th Precinct Annual Medal Day Ceremony held at Resorts World Casino on November 15, 2023. It was an opportunity to recognize those who go above and beyond the call of duty and included not only police officers, but also crossing guards, and other civilian members of the department. Senator Addabbo was joined by other local elected officials and their representatives, community leaders and the family members of the honorees.

Senator Addabbo said: "I am honored to stand here today and commend the exceptional bravery and unwavering dedication displayed by the men and women of the NYPD. Their remarkable service ensures the safety and security of our communities, and it is only fitting that we gather here to recognize their valor. From police officers to crossing guards and civilian members, everyone plays a crucial role in upholding the values of our great city and the protection of others. We owe them our deepest gratitude and unwavering support. I would also like to offer my condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the line of duty including, most recently, crossing guard Krystyna Naprawa. They will never be forgotten.”
