(February 1, 2024) - Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr., congratulated the owners of Zum Stammtisch, Werner and Hans Lehner, on the restaurant's induction into the NYS Historical Business Registry. Addabbo, who submitted the restaurant for consideration to the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, presented the brothers the State acknowledgement during a Glendale Kiwanis meeting, which is held at Zum Stammtisch.

"Zum Stammtisch has been a cornerstone of our community for half a century, and it's truly a part of our history," Addabbo said. "This is a wonderful honor and well deserved.”

Senator Addabbo presented Werner and Hans with a commendation certificate and expressed the community's gratitude for the enduring contributions of their family.

"Zum Stammtisch has demonstrated a significant contribution to our municipality's history and identity, embodying the traditions and values that define such businesses," he emphasized.

The induction into the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry recognizes businesses that have operated in the state for over fifty years and have made a lasting impact on their communities. Senator Addabbo's presence underscored the significance of Zum Stammtisch's achievement and its enduring legacy in the local area.
