Senator Helming Hosts Wayne County Students for Afterschool Advocacy Day in Albany

Senator Pam Helming meets with students and staff of Wayne County MOST (Maximizing Out of School Time) to discuss the importance of afterschool programs and their impact on student achievement, crime, drug, pregnancy prevention, and childhood obesity.

Afterschool Advocacy Day is a unique opportunity for students to extend learning, by advocating for programs and participating in civic engagement.

Senator Pam Helming presents Mr. Patrick Rutherford, of Farmington, a propane truck driver for Superior Plus Propane in Newark, with the New York State Senate Liberty Medal and a New York State Senate Resolution recognizing his efforts to save a woman’s life following a car crash. Joining the celebration is Mr. Robert Green, Manager of Superior Plus Propane.
