Senator Ryan Honors Nancy Kern Eaton as Senate District 50 Woman of Distinction

Senator Christopher J. Ryan is proud to announce Nancy Kern Eaton as his 2025 New York State Senate Women of Distinction honoree. The annual recognition celebrates the achievements and contributions of extraordinary New York women who have enriched the quality of life in their communities and beyond. 

Nancy Kern Eaton has dedicated her life to service, justice, and creating pathways of opportunity for others. As President of the United Way of Central New York since 2017, she has led transformative initiatives that have strengthened local nonprofit networks, advanced equity, and empowered thousands of families across the region. Her strategic vision and compassionate leadership have helped usher in a new era of collaboration and community resilience. 

“Nancy Kern Eaton exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose,” said Senator Ryan. “Her decades of work in the nonprofit sector, her tireless advocacy for marginalized communities, and her deep commitment to equity make her a role model not just for women, but for anyone seeking to make a difference. Eaton’s impact spans decades of nonprofit leadership, from directing services for youth and families to championing systems change. She has served on numerous local and statewide boards, and her efforts have been recognized with multiple awards for public service and leadership. Under her guidance, the United Way of Central New York has prioritized diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that resources are directed where they are most needed. 

The New York State Senate Women of Distinction ceremony will take place on May 13, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. in Albany.
