State Senator Christopher J. Ryan is proud to honor three High School Programs across Senate District 50 for their respective State Championship titles. In October, the Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers won their first New York State Field Band Title at the JMA Wireless Dome. In November, The Westhill High School Boys Soccer Team and Girls Volleyball Team won the Class B State Championship for their respective sports. The Boys Soccer team won their title on November 15, defeating Lafayette International 6-0, and the Girls Volleyball team won their title by defeating Charles Finney 3-0.
“Achieving a State Title in any competition is very difficult, and those programs that do deserve all the recognition they can get,” said Senator Ryan. “Congratulations to all of the students, coaches, and directors that achieved these incredible feats.”
Senator Ryan acknowledged the Westhill Boys Soccer and Girls Volleyball teams on Tuesday, December 16 at halftime of the Westhill home opener basketball game against the Syracuse Institute of Technology, where Westhill won 66-53. On Wednesday, December 17 Senator Ryan attended a recital at Oswego High School to present a proclamation to the marching band.
