(Bronx, NY) - On Wednesday, October 22, State Senator Gustavo Rivera presented a $140,000 check to the Kingsbridge-Riverdale-Van Cortlandt Development Corporation (KRVC) Executive Director Laura Levine-Pinedo to continue supporting their diverse community-focused events and efforts.

KRVC’s programs equip members in the community with opportunities to connect and enjoy our neighborhood. Family friendly activities are often not available locally due to underfunding and the lack of resources in The Bronx. Senator Rivera’s funding also supports the 4Bronx Project, which provides goods to families experiencing poverty and the unhoused. These kinds of services are beyond vital for those who don’t have the means to purchase clothing, food, and daily indispensable items.

“I’m honored to secure $140,000 in operational funding for the Kingsbridge-Riverdale-Van Cortlandt Development Corporation (KRVC) so that they can continue to support local programs and initiatives to uplift our neighbors in the Northwest Bronx. I’m incredibly thankful to KRVC’s Executive Director Laura Levine-Pinedo for being a prime example of what effective public service and community-building looks like,” said State Senator Gustavo Rivera.

“The entire KRVC team is incredibly grateful to Senator Gustavo Rivera for securing this vital funding. His unwavering support is a testament to his dedication to the Bronx, and it’s what allows KRVC to continue being a safe community space for our diverse and engaging programs and a critical resource for so many residents. We are excited to work side-by-side with the Senator in the coming year to build upon this success and continue serving our community,” said Laura Levine-Pinedo, Executive Director KRVC Kingsbridge Riverdale Van Cortlandt Development Corporation

Since 1981, KRVC has dedicated their mission to provide the Northwest Bronx with social, cultural, environmental, economic, and educational initiatives. They support all those in their vicinity, from small businesses to environmental and beautification efforts, while uplifting those who are often marginalized. KRVC holds numerous events throughout the year in Senate District 33 and it is a priority to keep these essential programs funded and accessible to Northwest Bronx residents.
