I stand firmly with Attorney General Letitia James. This indictment is a political attack meant to punish her for doing her job and holding the powerful accountable. It’s a shameful misuse of federal authority that undermines trust in our justice system and endangers the principles our democracy depends on.

Attorney General James has always carried out her duties with integrity, courage and fairness. She has fought for everyday New Yorkers, from protecting consumers and tenants to standing up for victims and working families. Her record speaks for itself.

I have no doubt that she will face this moment with the same strength and conviction that has defined her career. The people of New York stand with her, and we will not be intimidated by those who seek to silence truth and accountability.
