December 15, 2025
Senator Helming celebrated Ratnik Industries’ induction into the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry at the company’s headquarters in Victor.
Ratnik Industries, an international leader in snowmaking technology, has played a defining role in winter sports for more than six decades. Its world-renowned snowmaking systems have powered ski resorts across New York State, the country, and nearly every Winter Olympics since 1980.
The company’s story began in 1965 when President and CEO Ron Ratnik purchased the land that would become Bristol Mountain, helping launch one of the region’s most iconic winter destinations. What began as a local investment soon grew into a global enterprise, leading the industry in reliability, innovation, and technological advancement. Today, Ratnik Industries serves more than six hundred resorts worldwide.
Senator Helming said, “Ratnik Industries embodies the spirit of New York ingenuity. For more than 60 years, this family-led company has strengthened our regional economy, elevated the Finger Lakes on the world stage, and helped create unforgettable winter experiences for generations. Their induction into the Historic Business Preservation Registry is a well-deserved tribute to their legacy of innovation, commitment, and impact.”
Monika Ratnik, Business Development, Ratnik Industries, added, “Thank you to Senator Helming for recognizing our small business. We believe we are still thriving 60 years on by adhering to our core values, integrity, honesty, and quality, in our snowmaking products and supplying them to ski areas all over the world. We are honored. Thank you!”
Assemblywoman Andrea Bailey said, “Ratnik Industries has been a cornerstone of innovation and excellence in New York for more than half a century. Their pioneering snowmaking and pumping systems have set industry standards worldwide while highlighting the ingenuity and resilience of our local businesses. Being recognized in the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry is a fitting tribute to their remarkable legacy and continued commitment to quality, efficiency, and innovation. I am proud to celebrate Ratnik Industries as part of New York’s historic business community and as a shining example of how our businesses can thrive and make a lasting global impact.”
“The inclusion of Ratnik Industries into the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry is no small accomplishment,” said Victor Town Supervisor Jack Marren. “The eligibility criteria identify twenty bullet points that a business must possess to even be nominated. No small feat by any means, another indicator as to why Ratnik has operated for over 60 years. The Town is very proud to have Ratnik in our Town, and we appreciate Senator Helming’s nomination.”
Dan Fuller, General Manager of Bristol Mountain, added, “Ratnik Industries has spearheaded the development of snowmaking technology over the past six decades, transforming ski area operations worldwide with the ability to provide reliable snow conditions all winter long. Congratulations to the entire Ratnik team!”
The New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry honors businesses that have made a lasting contribution to their communities’ economic vitality and quality of life. Since the program’s launch in 2022, more than 230 long-standing businesses have been recognized statewide.
