Senator Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick hosts local Veterans Hall of Fame Ceremony

Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick, alongside local elected officials, recognized 19 distinguished veterans with induction into her Veterans Hall of Fame.
ELMONT, NY - Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick honored 19 distinguished men and women who bravely served in the United States Armed Forces during her Veterans Hall of Fame Ceremony, held on November 17th at the Elmont Memorial Library. The honorees included two World War II veterans who were both in attendance.

Since taking office, Senator Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick has worked to ensure veterans in her district are recognized, supported, and empowered. Each year, she has honored a local veteran in Albany through the New York State Senate’s Veterans Hall of Fame. To broaden this impact and recognize more heroes throughout Senate District 9, she launched the Veterans Hall of Fame ceremony, which celebrated 23 local Veterans in 2023.

“As the daughter of a Korean War veteran and the granddaughter of a World War I veteran, these ceremonies deepen my appreciation for the service of all veterans and creates an opportunity for others to learn about the tremendous sacrifices these brave men and women have made on behalf of our nation,”  said Senator Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick.

In addition, Senator Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick has held veteran roundtable discussions to ensure their voices are heard, addressing their concerns directly and advocating for legislation to support their needs.

“Thank you to all the veterans, their families, our local and state officials, and the many residents who joined us to show their support at this year’s ceremony,” she concluded.
