Senator Ryan Awards $120,000 to the Cicero Senior Center
October 20, 2026
State Senator Christopher J. Ryan (SD-50) today awarded $120,000 to the Town of Cicero which will be used to purchase a new minibus for the Senior Center.
“Senior centers play an important role in our communities by providing older adults with opportunities to stay active, build relationships, and remain connected to the community around them,” said Senator Ryan. “This $120,000 investment will help the Town of Cicero purchase a new minibus, giving the Cicero Senior Center greater flexibility with its programming, allowing them to organize outings and provide seniors with more opportunities to explore and participate in activities throughout Central New York. I’m proud to support our local seniors and invest in resources that enhance their quality of life and help them remain engaged members of our community.”
The new minibus will seat up to 14 passengers and replace the 13-year old existing minibus. The Cicero Senior Center uses its minibus up to three times per month, offering trips to local attractions such as theater shows, museum tours, small businesses, and local parks.
“The Senior Center is one of Cicero’s true gems,” said Cicero Town Supervisor Rob Santucci. “The ability to provide services and opportunities to our senior population is very important to us. Senator Chris Ryan’s generous donation of $120,000 in State funding to enable our Senior Center to purchase a sorely-needed 14 person bus is truly appreciated. Now Cicero seniors can have safe and reliable transportation to various functions and activities that enrich their lives. We are grateful to Senator Ryan for this award.”
