Senator Ryan Delivers Community Donations to Oswego County Opportunities Following Successful PRIDE Month Product Drive

Storage Totes Filled with Essential Hygiene and Personal Care Items Donated by Central New York Community

State Senator Christopher J. Ryan (SD-50) announced the successful completion of his district-wide PRIDE Month Product Drive, with three large storage totes filled with donated hygiene and personal care products delivered to Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) to support LGBTQ+ individuals and families throughout Central New York.

The month-long collection, held throughout June, encouraged residents across the 50th Senate District to donate new, unopened personal care items, including shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, menstrual hygiene products, body wash, and other everyday essentials. Donation sites were located throughout Onondaga and Oswego counties, making it easy for community members to participate.

"I am incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to donate and help make this drive a success," said Senator Ryan. "The response from our community was outstanding, and these three storage totes full of essential products are a testament to the kindness and generosity of our neighbors. Small acts of compassion can make a meaningful difference, and together we've helped ensure that local organizations have additional resources to support individuals and families with dignity."

The collected items were delivered to OCO, where they will be distributed to community members in need through the organization's programs and services. To learn more about the services that OCO offers for our LGBTQ+ individuals, visit the organization's website

Senator Ryan thanked the Fayetteville Free Library, NOPL Brewerton Branch, Maxwell Memorial Library, Fulton Public Library, and the Oswego County Opportunities offices in Fulton and Oswego for serving as collection sites throughout the month.
