State Senator Christopher J. Ryan (SD-50) presented a proclamation to the John Pepper Memorial Lacrosse Tournament this past weekend, in celebration of the tournament’s 25th year.
The tournament takes place in Camillus and honors the memory of West Genesee High School Junior Varsity Lacrosse player, John Pepper, who passed away on August 30, 2001. The tournament helps benefit the West Genesee Lacrosse program and other local, national, and international lacrosse-oriented causes.
“Lacrosse will always be a part of the history and culture of Central New York,” said Senator Ryan. “The John Pepper Memorial Lacrosse Tournament not only serves as a premier youth lacrosse event, but honors the memory of a life that was tragically lost too soon. I’m thankful to all of the people and organizations that come together to plan this event every year, and I’m proud to honor the tournament and the memory of John Pepper.”
The proclamation was presented to the organizers of the tournament by Senator Ryan’s staff on the tournament’s opening day.
