(Southern Tier, NY) – New York State Senator Lea Webb is joining the City of Binghamton as an official co-host of the second annual GreenSheen Free Paint Recycling Event on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

Building on the City’s successful 2025 environmental initiative, this year’s high-volume event provides residents with a professional solution for disposing of leftover architectural paints, stains, and varnishes at no cost. Last year, the City’s leadership led 503 residents to successfully divert 39,583 lbs. of waste from local landfills.

“The City of Binghamton is committed to providing our residents with tangible, eco-friendly services that protect our local environment,” said Kirby Boynton, Events Director for GreenSheen Paint. “By continuing this partnership, the city is demonstrating its role as a regional leader in the circular economy. We are also pleased to have the additional support of Senator Webb this year as we aim to grow the event and reach more residents in the southern tier.”

“I am pleased to partner with the City of Binghamton and GreenSheen on this important environmental effort,” said Senator Lea Webb. “This program provides a vital service to my constituents while protecting our natural resources for future generations.”
