Senator Lea Webb Announces NYS Senate Summer Reading Program

Summer Reading Program

Today, Senator Lea Webb announced her free summer reading program for school children of all ages across Senate District 52. This year’s theme is “Unearth A Story,” aiming to explore new worlds, spark their imaginations, and strengthen reading skills by engaging young minds with their local libraries and embarking on literary adventures.

Participating students should submit their completed reading form by August 21, 2026. Students will receive an official summer reading certificate recognizing their dedication and achievement. By participating, you are supporting families and educators in promoting literacy at home, keeping students engaged, and encouraging a lifelong love of books and learning.

“I’m excited to launch this year’s summer reading program, ‘Unearth A Story’ for children throughout our district,” said Senator Lea Webb. “Reading is a cornerstone of our society, and it can release creativity, excitement, and joy for the youth in our communities.”

Children who read three books and submit information about their readings will receive a Certificate of Achievement from Senator Webb in recognition of their hard work and dedication. This initiative not only celebrates their accomplishments but also encourages continuous learning and exploration through books.

Parents and guardians from across New York State are invited to enroll their children in this enriching summer activity. To participate, families can fill out a short form listing the three books their child read this summer.
