Hinchey Statement on President Signing Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act
January 14, 2026
KINGSTON, NY – New York State Senate Agriculture Chair Michelle Hinchey issued the following statement after President Donald Trump signed the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act into law:
“Dairy is New York’s leading agricultural sector, and for years, we’ve been pushing federal leaders to pass the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act, because it will boost economic stability for our dairy farmers and healthier choices for students across the state. Today, our fight has paid off, and New York can put this law to work, giving farmers back a critical market for their businesses, strengthening rural economies, and making sure students have a wholesome option on their trays. Supporting the farmers who feed us, and keeping their businesses competitive, should be a priority at every level of government, and this new law is a welcome win for New York dairy.”
