Senator Pam Helming joined mayors, local officials, and community leaders from across Monroe County at the Monroe County Association of Villages Annual Dinner, held on Saturday, April 18th at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester.
The evening highlighted shared services, strong local partnerships, and the important role village government plays in residents’ everyday lives. Senator Helming attended as a guest of the Village of Honeoye Falls and Mayor Rick Milne, who concluded his term as Association president and passed the gavel to incoming president Mayor Plummer of Pittsford. Senator Helming also welcomed several newly elected mayors to the Association, including Mayor Andrew Peck of Scottsville, Mayor John Hartman of Churchville, and Mayor John Alfieri of East Rochester.
Senator Helming said, “Local government is where public service feels closest to home. It is the leader who knows the community, answers the call, and shows up when people need help. Our village officials do that work every day with dedication, humility, and heart. They are not just managing services. They are helping protect the quality of life that makes these communities so special. I was proud to join them for this special evening, congratulate Mayor Plummer on his new role leading the Association, and welcome the newest mayors taking on this important responsibility. The villages of Monroe County are fortunate to have such caring and committed leadership.
