Elmont, NY — Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick presented the New York State Empire Award to Sapienza Bake Shop in Elmont, honoring the longtime local business for its excellence, community impact, and contributions to the local economy.

The Senator visited the bake shop to present the award and congratulate owner Andrew Sapienza and the Sapienza family on this well-deserved recognition.

“Sapienza Bake Shop is a true gem of the Elmont community. For more than 50 years, the Sapienza family has served local families with dedication, quality, and heart. Passed down from father to son, Andrew Sapienza now carries on this family legacy, a true testament to what it means to invest in your community. It was my honor to present them with the New York State Empire Award in recognition of their lasting impact and unwavering commitment to Elmont,” said Senator Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick.

The New York State Empire Award is the highest honor the New York State Senate can bestow upon a small business, recognizing outstanding local businesses for their contributions to their communities.

Sapienza Bake Shop has been an Elmont institution for more than 50 years, bringing exceptional baked goods, warm service, and a true sense of community to the neighborhood. With the presentation of the New York State Empire Award, its contributions to the community have been formally recognized by New York State.
