Valley Stream, NY — Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick presented the Educators Inspiring a Generation Award  to Shawnee Warfield, Principal of the Alden Terrace School in the Elmont Union Free School District, honoring her for her decades of dedicated service to students.

The Senator met with Principal Warfield to present her with the award and congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition.

"Administrators play the vital role of creating an environment where students can spend their days, be nurtured, flourish, and grow to become the next great leaders of our communities. Principal Warfield has done an excellent job of fostering such an environment for her students at the Alden Terrace School. She continues to help build a strong foundation for the students within her building. Shawnee Warfield has been an educator for 26 years, spending the last decade as Principal, where she has cultivated a supportive and caring environment for her students and staff. With the presentation of the New York State Senate Educators Inspiring a Generation Award, her lasting contributions to the Elmont community have been formally recognized by New York State.
