Fearless! Hudson Valley Recognized with New York State Empire Award
October 13, 2026
In recognition of its lifesaving work for survivors of domestic violence, New York State Senator Rob Rolison has awarded Fearless! Hudson Valley with the New York State Empire Award, the highest statewide honor that can be bestowed on a small business and organization.
“For survivors of domestic violence, having someone in their corner can make all the difference, and that is exactly what Fearless! Hudson Valley does every single day,” said Senator Rob Rolison. “The Fearless team’s tireless advocacy, compassion and commitment to protecting survivors and their families have changed countless lives. Presenting them with the Empire Award is a small way to recognize the extraordinary impact they have on our communities.”
Founded in 1986 as the Orange County Safe Homes Project, Fearless! Hudson Valley has grown from a small domestic violence hotline and shelter into a leading advocate for survivors of interpersonal violence, human trafficking, sexual violence and other crimes. As the only private nonprofit organization in Orange and Sullivan counties dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence, teen dating violence and human trafficking, Fearless! provides free, confidential services, including emergency shelter, advocacy, education and prevention programs. Through its work, the organization strives to break the cycle of abuse, empower survivors and build safer, more supportive communities.
